Amazon KDP Requirements South Africa 2025

To publish on Amazon KDP from South Africa, you need a few things in place.

Amazon Account

Create an account at kdp.amazon.com. Use the same login as your regular Amazon account or create a new one.

Tax Form (W-8BEN)

US law requires non-US authors to submit Form W-8BEN. This can reduce withholding tax from 30% to 0% under the US–SA treaty. Complete it in your KDP account settings.

Payment Method

KDP pays via direct deposit (US bank) or Payoneer. Most SA authors use Payoneer—sign up at payoneer.com, link to KDP, then withdraw to your SA bank in ZAR.

Manuscript and Cover

Formatted manuscript (EPUB or DOCX) and a cover image. Use Kindle Create, Canva, or hire a designer.
